You can find answers to multiple questions from other member farmers; additionally, the page is geared to seek participation from experts in fish farming by keeping an open forum. Our orientation in fish farming is entirely organic and we're seeking to promote organic fish farming away from hormone raised fish, however, topics here can be of any sort.
Topics of great interest for American fish farmers are competitiveness; sustainability of business practices and pofitability against foreign markets. Topics about genetics, reproduction, hatchery management, grow out production, disease management, nutrition and feed management, as well as farm troubleshooting, processing, food safety, marketing, advertisement, sales and financial mechanisms available to American farmers.
This valuable resource to American Tilapia farmers is free and is managed on a day to day basis courtesy of Tilapia Fish Farmers, farmers of organic Duckweed fed Tilapia. Volunteering moderators are welcome.
We'll discuss and find potential solutions to problems of American fish farmers through feedback and experiences shared by American farmers. American fish farming is unique to American farmers and to American markets only. We'll discuss American consumers, legislation, many other topics not applicable to fish farmers outside USA regions. Indeed a great challenge for American fish farmers now and in the future.
